Dwarf Four Leaf Clover is an excellent, undemanding foreground carpeting plant that is great for beginners and experts alike!
Dwarf Four Leaf Clover (Marsilea hirsuta) is a very undemanding foreground plant that has much lower care requirements than the majority of carpeting plants in the hobby. This hardy, slow-growing plant is native to Australia.
For short vertical growth and carpeting effect, Dwarf Four Leaf Clover requires moderate to high lighting. It will grow taller vertically under low lighting. It does not have to be pruned often unless more horizontal growth is desired. It will also benefit from CO2 supplementation, but this is not required.
This listing is for the tissue culture form of Dwarf Four Leaf Clover. Tissue cultures are superior to traditional forms of aquarium plants in many ways. They are produced in a completely sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of them carrying pest snails or algae spores. They have a shelf life of several months if properly maintained and they are housed in a nutrient gel until introduced to the aquarium. To introduce a tissue culture plant to the aquarium, simply rinse off as much nutrient gel as possible, then plant as usual. The nutrient gel will not harm your aquarium.
Like most plants, Dwarf Four Leaf Clover will benefit from supplementation such as Seachem Flourish, Flourish Excel, nitrogen, and other plant supplements.
